To all anti-homosexuals, why is homosexuality a sin? I'm asking of you not to use the excuse, "Because the Bible said so". Can someone provide me specific evidence (besides the Bible or God) about why homosexuality is sinful?

I've also just thought... why is homosexuality sinful if God created homosexuals?

Nowhere in my question did I mention the term "Christians". I used anti-homosexuals. You can be atheist or agnostic and against homosexuality.

Okay, people have been all worked up because I used the word "sin". I guess all I'm asking is, "Why is homosexuality bad?"

There is no argument against homosexuality being wrong other than the Bible. Anyone who tries to tell you there is, will have a pathetic argument. I believe that God didn't inspire the Bible. There are arguments that the Bible was misinterpreted and that the Bible is not against homosexuality. My guess is that the authors of the Bible thought homosexuality was wrong and just assumed that God must feel the same. Therefore, the put it into the Bible and voila, centuries of misinformation. Because of one book, generations of people have been brainwashed to believed that homosexuality is a sin and even when scientists prove that it is genetic, they still won't believe it. The power of religion.

You are asking something that is already Biblical in sense since the concept of sin is part of the Bible (and most religions for that matter). I am not a complete authority in the Bible, and I am not an "anti-homosexual" as you put it, but one answer that I have heard over and over is the God did not intentionally create "homosexuality." It came to be because of free will that was given to humans, which is why it is sinful. Since it was humans who chose to be gay, and not God who made you gay. Again this is very controversial territory, and one with many arguments and counterarguments, but this is just one of the reasons I have heard that people use against homosexuality, but I don't buy in since I am a Determinist and don't hold free will existent or the idea that the Bible is the ultimate say on how we live our life.

Homosexuality and bi-sexuality are are purely 2 comparable kinds of fornication, additionally comparable to adultery. they're all sins of the flesh and that they are an abomination to God. it is not appropriate what you prefer to call it or what be conscious dancing you prefer to do around it. i wish you realize that that's no longer the only verse interior the Bible that warns of the hazards of homosexuality. Leviticus 18:22, and a million Corinthians - 6-19 additionally talk of this sin. via the way, you may mock Christians in case you prefer, it is your determination. besides the indisputable fact that, I worry no guy for any reason; yet I do worry for the souls of many for many motives, their mocking being one.

It's not. I asked this same question & all they came up with is Bible quotes. Now I happen to be a Christian but you're right God created us all, so either people believe that God made a mistake
(which of course good Christians don't believe) & believe a book written by man or they're just plain idiots. Everyone has a right to their opinion but why give here when nobody cares. The only reason straight people should be coming to this site is to support the GLBT people or they really don't belong here

First...I don't think there is anything wrong with it, but ...
I think the answer to your question lies in what is percieved as "natural". If you have to leave the words sin and the bible out of it, I think most people against would argue that sexuality is about procreation of the species and that clearly based on our anatomy homosexuality goes against the grain of how things are supposed to work or fit together. Therefore it is incorrect or wrong. That's what i think the perception is anyway.

well, this isn't exactly an answer to your question, as i do not hold anything against homosexuals, but the fact that you want to know the reason why it is a sin, but rule out "because the bible said so" is paradoxical. religious fanatics see this and it is their excuse. they will constantly argue the point that if God didn't have anything supposedly against it, it wouldn't be a "sin".

well i'm not against homosexuality...i'm not christian by the way.but of course christians cant give you the answer you're looking for because they will obviously base it on the bible.

some people are against homosexuality because they simply feel that it is morally wrong.they dont realise that homosexuals were made that way and that being gay is not a choice.i have watched documentaries on the discovery channel about the lives of a few homosexuals...and let me tell you that that was what truly opened my eyes towards how dificult life really is for them...and how tough it is to be accepted not only by the society...but by their own families.

God didn't create homosexuals. God created Adam and Eve. Everyone else sprung up from them. So Man created homosexuals.

Without using the Bible, homosexuality is a sin because it encourages non-propagation of the species. This is a form of suicide and genocide, both considered to be sinful without any biblical reference.

Additional: People can claim homosexuality isn't a choice all they want to, but that simply isn't true. Many gays will make that claim, thereby giving the impression that it is out of their hands and they then should be allowed to practice this lifestyle. But some gays don't feel this way. I have two gay brothers that don't and personally know others in the gay community that don't. Here is an argument on it:

1) Some people might be gay because it is in their genes, but being gay is also something a person who isn't born gay can choose to be. For example, a person can be born a brunette but they can dye their hair and become a blond if they so choose.

2) Even if a person is born gay, then it doesn't mean they have to be gay. People have all sorts of things they are genetically inclined towards that they change or attempt to alter. An example is alcoholism. That is something some people are genetically inclined towards, but people who are alcoholics can and do avoid drinking, and it is even encouraged despite them being genetically inclined towards it.

If being genetically inclined to be a certain way forced us to be that way and we had no choice in the matter, then we would be running around killing animals with our own hands to survive and still be living in caves and primitive constructs. Acting like you have no choice in matters, any matters, is simply a way to wimp out.

If you insist that being gay isn't a choice, that it is something that a person is and so it dictates that person and society should be accepting of it, then you have to apply that to other things as well or be shown to be hypocrites and bigots yourself. So you should want people like alcoholics, sex offenders and some of the mentally disturbed to be embraced by society, and that society should allow them to be as they are and not try to change them. After all, that is the way they were born so they had no choice and still don't, it's all a part of their nature. And the people who take gays and beat them up can make the same claim, that doing this is part of their nature and that they should be just as accepted.

So which is it?

If it was all right to be homo...why do we have men and women?, why not just men,or just women?

Why werein't women made to reproduce with another woman?..Same with men.

If it wasin't a sin and people were born that way...why would people think it's a sin in the first place then? If it was wasin't a sin, it would of never been brought up as a sin.

I don't hate gays, but I don't believe in what they do. Not just because of the bible...because it's also logical.

Well I'm Bi-sexual, So I'm totally not anti homosexual. But There is a part of the Hebrew book that says if you find two people of the same sex in the same bed you are supposed to take them out and stone them...

I'm pretty sure there is no actual place in the bible that says, "Thou males shalt not f*** other Men in the ***" Or "Thou women's P****ies shalt never feel the love of another woman."

in the bible... I'm pretty sure it is not directly stated...

Even if so... Homosexuality is not some new trend, Sweetie it's been going on for so long it isn't even funny, the Romans did it all the time. They also had a lot of orgies, Don't you wish you were roman.

It's Natural, So f*** people.
