Himalayan Mountains starts from Pameer Knot in China and they are covering the Arc of North including China, POK, North India, Nepal, Bhutan Tibet and up to Assam. It having three parallel Mountain Series Big Himalayan, Middle and Shivalik Series. Shivalik Mountains are having lowest altitude and the most part of it is existing in India.

The Himalayan Mountain extend from the Pamirs Knot to Nagaland of India.They extend over 2,500 kms. They were formed during the tertiary age due the compression of sediments between the Gondwanaland and the Angaraland.
There are three parallel ranges in the Himalayas:

i am from himalya.so i know better then anybody.it is in india mostly.But the highest peak mounteverest is in nepal.but some portion also exist in china.
