as an owner of a 4 cyinder saab, i take mine in bi-yearly for a tuneup. but usually frequent visits to the same oil change place will result in more advice from the mechanics, and they will typically let you in on what's wrong.
on a side-note, you put a saab question in a mazda category. the saab section is looking a little blank... show it some love.

You should do the tuneup yourself. Order Spark Plugs, a distributor cap and rotor, and an Oil filter online and take an hour and a half and do it yourself. Then you know your doing it right and doing a quality job. If you dont know how, you can look it up online and get a tutorial. And if you have no time at all, then take it to a midas or somthing like that.Whatever you do...DONT TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. I suggest buying your parts yourself to save some money.
