Please retype this problem, as it is not readable.

Edit: 3/5 (5x-10) + 1/4 (6-2x) = 1/8 (7x-3) - 6 (x-1)

It's no big deal.

1.) Lets start by multiplying the terms into the parenthesis.

3x - 6 + 6/4 - 1/2x = 7/8x - 3/8 - 6x + 6

2.) Lets group the x and the constants to a side

3x - 1/2x - 7/8x + 6x = 6 - 6/4 - 3/8 + 6

Let's make things easy and multiply both sides by 8.

24x - 4x - 7x + 48x = 48 - 12 - 3 + 48

61x = 81

x = 81/61

It is very well possible I have made a simple mistake. Now how would I check this? Simple I take the value of x and put it back in the original equation to see if my answer is correct. Can you do this and tell me if the answer is correct?

P.S. Feel free to post edits, I will check back later.

I cant read it all but I think they want you to simply so that both sides are equal. it will go something like

1) multiplying those outside fractions into the numbers inside to get rid of the parentheses.

2) then you will have make the terms of the fractions equal so that you can add them together (or you can do this step first and save yourself some headache). hint: the new common denominator will be 20.

3) then keep doing simple addition and subtraction and both side of the equation should end up the same if that is the intended objective.

multiply the fractions in to get
3x-6+1.5-.5x = 7x/8-3/8
combine like terms and solve for x as usual
