While not stellar news this poll should make us all take heart that slowly but surely we're returning to our to a more centrist world view, it took years to ruin it so we should be glad there's improvement in our perception of our government, do you agree this is a good start? If not why, is it that your personal agenda isn't being served as opposed to the will of the majority?

A poster says"Al Qaeda has sent a message to leaders of the Democratic party that credit for the defeat of congressional Republicans belongs to the terrorists"

How bizarre is your thinking? Actually what that message tells me is that they'd like you to believe that is the case, didja ever think they might want you to think that way because they're relaly afraid the other party might really do some good toward combating them? Wow, don't tell me you ever never ever thought they could minipulate public opinoin? I thought they had a very specific agenda, To Win! Maybe they'er afraid that won't happen if the dems control the decisions.

What wonderfully sly, twisted thinking! I love it; keep up the good work!

Seriously, yes, I DO think that we are getting just a little self-respect back as a country. And, since the PEOPLE actually voted for a Democrat (who had the election stolen from him), I think we, the people, are finally being served--a little.

Now, if the Repugs would just stop serving us with a side of sour grapes, I could--almost--be a happy camper!

The will of the majority is fickle. When President Bush took appropriate action after 911 by sending troops to Afghanistan and Iraq, his approval rating was 63%. Now when things didn't go as expected, his approval rating has dropped to 23%. History will show that President Bush done the right thing by sending troops to Afghanistan and Iraq. I can't imagine what people are thinking or if they are thinking at all. As President, Bush had no alternative. Remember when the United States was attacked on 911 and 3,200 people were killed? Wake up and support President Bush. What should he have done? Turn the other cheek and let the brainless radicals attack us again.

Al Qaeda Sends a Message to Democrats
December 22, 2006 2:28 PM
Brian Ross and Hoda Osman Report:
Al Qaeda has sent a message to leaders of the Democratic party that credit for the defeat of congressional Republicans belongs to the terrorists.
December 22, 2006 2:28 PM
In a portion of the tape from al Qaeda No. 2 man, Ayman al Zawahri, made available only today, Zawahri says he has two messages for American Democrats.
"The first is that you aren't the ones who won the midterm elections, nor are the Republicans the ones who lost. Rather, the Mujahideen -- the Muslim Ummah's vanguard in Afghanistan and Iraq -- are the ones who won, and the American forces and their Crusader allies are the ones
Zawahri calls on the Democrats to negotiate with him and Osama bin Laden, not others in the Islamic world who Zawahri says cannot help.
"And if you don't refrain from the foolish American policy of backing Israel, occupying the lands of Islam and stealing the treasures of the Muslims, then await the same fate," he said.

Actually I believe the opposite. I feel it is clear that since the forties our government has been rife with corruption. Do you think all that corruption will disappear after one election? I sure don't.

I have fired all too many people for saying the right thing and not following through. We think congress is on the right path but until they deal with real issues (last I checked we were still in Iraq without an exit plan, we still don't have protection along our southern border, we still do not have real campaign finance reform, we have no plan for illegal immigration reform etc etc etc.) and stop passing BS bills to appease us I will not trust them...and nor should you. Once we start trusting them they will turn on us..Congress must stay in fear of us (the voters) to prevent the corruption of the past.
