I don't know you personally so you may or not be crazy but if you are willing to call yourself a Royals fan than at least you are loyal. I could see them having less that 100 losses but making a run for the playoffs is a bit of a pipe dream. Yet, a year ago if the same question was asked about the Tigers I might have given a similar answer. Then again, KC's pitching isn't nearly as good so I can't say the Royals stand a chance at topping the Indians, Twins, and Tigers. The owner's pockets may have opened but for the wrong player...check the numbers; Gil Meche is mediocre at best, not to mention the fact he played in a pitcher's ballpark in Seattle. In KC's ballpark he will be giving up homers left and right. Unfortunately for the Royals I'd have to say they might have made the worst signing of the offseason and most hot stove news has expressed similar feelings about it. The one shining light Royals' fans have to look forward to is that new 3rd baseman they have coming up through their system...he is supposed to have a killer bat and could make an impact this year.

Will the Royals stay under 100 losses? Yes. Will they be a good team? No. Will they make a run in their division? Not a chance. Im not disrespecing any Royals fans or their team, but they are going to be a young and inexperienced organization next year. Yes in the years to come I think they can possibly make a run into the post-season, but right now after the season they just had, I think that is too much to ask for.

I think they need a young manager that will connect well with the young talent. In this day and age the playoffs are not unthinkable, look at the Tigers going from 100 losses to the World Series in two years. I think they may need to spend wisely which they seem to have done somewhat since the new GM took over and have to retain some of their talent, I would say they are a 50-50 shot in the next three years....just like most of the rest of the teams. They have young talent they just need a few veterans to staple it all together.

I think there is a good chance the Royals will break that streak of 100 losses in a season streak this yearand be competitive. Look what the Tigers did in a matter of 3 years. If they have good coaching .sound fundamentals , and a desire to win I think the streak will be over. At times they will surprise some of the other teams.

This year they still lose 100 as all of the young players learn. But they will be a team to watch next year or the year after.
sorry if you think Gil Meche is the answer you need to ask another question.

I honestly think the Royals will be a much improved team this year due to the nice additions they have made to the team. However, I do not think they have helped themselves enough to get anywhere near the playoffs. Kansas City cannot improve overnight and it will take a couple years before they can be competitive enough to get to the playoffs. I think with careful planning and management, they can get somewhere close to .500 this year and then improve on a yearly basis. Good Luck K.C.!

I think the Royals will definitely have under 100 losses this season although I do not believe they will win their division.

No.
Their Division is too strong for the Royals to turn it around in one season with minimal moves after a 100 game losing season. Twins, Tigers & White Sox.. what else can i say except, goodnight Royals.

100+ losses.... definitely. should have moved to the NL central. should have built a downtown stadium. should have poisoned Sweeney.
its too bad that they would lose a 7 game series to AA Wichita.
these are tough times to be a Royals fan. they are my #2 team and i still have hope. i hope i that they will make another playoff in my lifetime. i am only 32, so there is a shot. :-)
