Life is a range bound phenomenon..... the golden middle range alone can sustain life. Accordingly, the two opposite extremes beyond the admissible range have both a negative impact and to the extent that both are unpalatable for life, they appear to have the same effect. Scientifically, however, the opposite extremes impact in different ways... the burn through extreme cold is different compared to the burn through extreme heat, even as both are burns. We can't hear too high frequency sound nor can we hear too low frequency sound.... but the inability to hear the two extremes is not exactly the same. The phenomenon can also be understood as balance and imbalance.... balance is palatable... imbalance is unstable and the imbalance can equally be caused by two opposite extremes with the same result of instability... but a deeper look and analysis can differentiate between the two extreme opposite causes.

Thank you for a really STAR question!! Hadn't thought of it before!!!

Well, thats an interesting question actually. I have too pondered this. But, this is one of those questions that society will never get an answer for, like "is there a god?". Sometimes, you just have to think about it for a long time and come up with your very own conclusion.
