I'm not going to play the Leafs bias here.. I LOVED Borje Salming
near and dear to mine and every other Leafs fans heart.. BUT
in your honest opinion WHO is the greatest Swedish born player?
I was also a HUGE Hakan Loob fan.

If you're a leaves fan, then you should love Daniel Alfredsson. Go SENS Go!

Ditto on the above.
Forsberg is an amazing player, but injuries have futzed up his career.

Lidstrom, imo, is the best Swedish born player of times past and present.

As an aside (not a Leafs' fan), I think Sundin is probably the most underrated.
Folks either hate him or love him (because he plays for the *expletive* Leafs), but he's been a steady force in the league for a long time.
Dude's nearly amassed 500 goals ( rare feat) and closing in on 700 assists.
Over the years he's become responsible defensively (a Selke candidate) and a clutch player.

Peter Forsberg had the potential to be great, but injuries have hampered him and is potential legacy for his game.
In my opinion, Niklas Lidstrom, is the best. He's durable, smart, plays defense great and quarterbacks the power play like nobody has ever done from the point. He has revolutionized the position with his offensive prowess and gives up nothing as a defender.

PLUS... He's a winner! Two Cups and multiple Norris Trophys.
