I have heard it as SNES and NES, but I don't know which is correct.

they are actually 2 different systems, the SNES came out after the NES.

NES is the original Nintendo Entertainment System. A few years later the Super Nintendo came out. It's way better, but both are awesome and old school.

There was both. Nintendo , Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, then Gamecube. Now we have the Wii. Thats not including the handheld systems.
