Mate, The first thing you really need to do is to acknowledge that you have an anxiety disorder. The sooner you do this the quicker you can work out a plan to deal with it.

Driving with an anxiety disorder is not too bad but that is dependent on how severe your symptoms are. If they affect the way you can handle a truck then I suggest you deal with that issue first.

You have to realise that there could be a possibility that you could injure or harm someone if you do have severe symptoms.

Even though you sound as though you really need this job, the question should really be can you afford to keep living like this?

If you continue like this you may well end up losing your job anyway. I am sure you would not want that.

You dont say if you have contacted a doctor but I will assume that you have not. That is the second thing you should do.

Explain your full circumstances and look for a natural treatment. There is no way you want to be driving under the influence of any prescription medicine as it could make you drowsy.

I would seriously look at natural treatments that do not affect you at all.

Please seek counseling. This is not normal, and it is NOT okay for you to be driving during an attack. You are a hazard to yourself and others in that situation. Someone needs to help you figure out why this is happening, otherwise you WILL lose your job because you will at worst end up causing a collision, and at minimum lose your partner's trust in your ability to handle your job.

If you take proactive action to seek help for this condition right away , hopefully you can keep that from happening. I do wish you the best, I suffered from anxiety attacks in college. Unfortunately they tried drugging me up instead of actually helping me which just made everything worse, so please don't go down that path. Anti-anxiety drugs are bad mojo, they have bad side effects (that the people who prescribe them never warn you about) and only mask the real problem. Good luck!

OK. I am able to speak from personal experience here. I have a lot of trouble with anxiety and it affects everything from driving to walking to a store alone. I went to the doctor and Im on a low dose of anxiety meds. At first I was ashamed but now I know that anxiety is something that was controling my life and the meds are a way for me to control it again. Id recommend seeing your doctor and telling him. Right now its only controling driving but it could be something else next. And I mean honestly; do you want anything or anyone to be in control of your life?

Good luck!!

No it's not ok. You could cause an accident if you really lost control.

See a doctor or get help online
