Depends. Water is a conductor. When you spill water on a keyboard, it gets between the keys and onto the Printed Wire Boards. These are plastic sheets with a bunch of traces on them which channels the electricity. On a PWB, the water makes a film on the plastic, and the electrons are free to travel everywhere, which comletely honks up your keyboard. If you take it apart, eventually the water dries, and the electrons are confined to the traces the way they're supposed to be. That's why you can almost always slavage a keyboard that has water (or coffee or coke) spilled on it - just take it apart, clean the plastic, dry thoroughly, and put back together.

The mouse is a little different. There are active parts in there - a laser diode (if it's a laser mouse), maybe an IC or capacitor or some something else. If power is applied, the electrons may travel to a sensitive piece of hardware, and blow it out. If that's the case, it's much cheaper to throw it away.

Best thing is to unplug or completely remove the batteries. Take it apart if you can, but be sure you know how to put it back. Dry it with a hairdrier on low, leave it alone for a day or two, and put it back together. If it works great - if not you probably blew a key component the moment the water got on it (if there are any) and the mouse is hosed. Good luck.

Hey
see it will worth trying to dry it cause i have experienced the same thing , it will malfunction till the water or juice is there so dry it and don't use it at least for a day the next day it should work fine if not open the mouse and check if there any more juice or something that sticky just wipe it with little water dry it then it should work , if not buy a new one

Best Regards

Its definatly worth trying, ive spilt water on my mouse and it has worked fine, dry it out and try it, there is still alot of hope. if it was like a grape juice you might accually want to spill water on it to flush it out.
