I have met the incredible Cyndi Lauper three times. The first time I got a backstage pass and when I finally got backstage I shook Cyndi's hand and said "how are you?" and then became tongue-tied! Cyn was sweet and seemed shy that night. We did get our picture taken together and I managed to ask for a hug before she left! I had just seen her perform in the front row and she had rocked! The second time I went to see her perform and then waited in line while she signed autographs. Something very sad had just recently happened in my life and I talked to Cyn about it; she was so caring and actually held my hand and asked if I was okay. And, she gave my daughter a free autographed picture. The third time I met her was June of '06 in NYC after watching her perform on Broadway in The Threepenny Opera. She came out and we talked and she let my husband take two pictures of her and me together. She was very sweet, as she always is. She has a reputation for being very gracious with her fans and it's very true. Cyndi truly shines!!

Ronald Regan when he was gov. of California coming out of Ed's Warehouse restaurant in Toronto Canada. Also Kris Kirstoferson in Hamilton Ontario. I was an extra in the ABC mini series "Amerika" and got his autograph. There are lots of others but these two are the most famous Americans. As for Canadians Pierre Trudeau and Joe Clark both at political rallies and talked to both of them. Many Canadian Actors when I am an extra in movies.

The one that stands out the most though is Chris Zurich, I met him at a Chicago Wolves Game, I was surprised as how short he was but his arms were the size of my waist, huge!!! Oh and Dan Hampton and Steve McMicheal use to shop at Frye Boots where my mom worked and she drooled over them, lol.

Tom Hanks. I was working in Trader Joes with my brother at the time way back in 1987 at the Sherman Oaks store. I worked in the cheese dept, and my brother was working the reg. My brother has waited on many famous people, so seeing Tom Hanks that day was no big deal to him. I was wrapping some cheese and looked up and there he was. He asked me where the bags of ice were. I was so nervous I asked somebody else where the ice was. He said Thanks and moved on. he was'nt rude or anything. Very nice guy. I loved him in the movie "Turner and Hooch"!!!!!!

I met privately with Al Gore in the old firehall in Chapel Hill, Tennessee when he was our senator. We talked about a problem I had for about fifteen minutes. He was polite but detached, lacking in personality, and ultimately did not follow through with help as he said he would. I wasn't impressed then; I'm not impressed now.

I met Apollo 13 astronaut Jack Swigert at my house when I was a kid. My father was somewhat important in politics in Colorado, and Swigert was running for the US House of Representatives. I got home from school and found about 20 people in my livingroom and I went to my bedroom and there he was. Mr Swigert had ripped a hole in his pants and one of his workers was using my mother's sewing machine to fix it. Mr Swigert was a friendly, concerned man (and very dignified acting...even in his boxer shorts). He was trying to solve my rubic's cube and admitted that he'd never solved a rubic's cube before, either. I was about 14or15 at the time.
I also met NFL Hall of Famer Willie Brown (he was playing for the Raiders at the time) outside of the place he worked off season. He gave me his autograph(and DIDN'T ask for money) and talked with me about football for about 2 hours. He was an amazing person on and off of the field. I was about 12 years old when I met him.

I met Neil McCoy the country singer at a club in 1997 in Umitilla Oregon. He treated us like we were his friends. I told him that I expected him to be snobby since he was big and famous and that I was surprised because he wasn't. He said that he thought it was stupid to act that way because thats how you loose fans.
