Our careers and political ideals apparently intermingle and are influenced by each other. This is evident through polling. Demographics show certain occupations are associated closely with particular political viewpoints. It could be that our career shapes the political ideals or the political ideals predisposition us to certain occupations. For most people I believe it is a little of both. How do you see your occupation and political affiliation in relation to one another. Please provide your occupation and what side of the political spectrum you most closely side with.

Presently I'm a teacher, though for some years I worked in an impoverished area of my city, dealing with alcoholics, drug-addicts, prostitutes, etc.

I'm a liberal, but I was liberal before ever entering into those fields. I chose those jobs in part because of my beliefs. And little in my experience has served to counter what I've come to believe.

It's one thing to talk about the poor, addiction, etc... from a remote vantage point. It's another thing to discuss it from close personal experience.

Good question.

My working & economic histories have definitely shaped my political views. I have always been a working stiff, never in a supervisory or business position.at the lower middle class or below level. I have worked both union & non union jobs in a variety of settings. Due to health problems, I have been on welfare for short periods of my life & been among the poverty level working poor. Somehow I reached retirement age living solely on SS w/o health care or pension. I get by.

Earlier in my life I was quite liberal, but have moved a lot toward the center. Life experience has taught me that moderate solutions seem to work the best for my living conditions, my friends & neighbors, & for the country as a whole.. Far left or far right solutions just don't work., IMH or AO.

the two Republican and Democrat are in simple terms political events. There are those with ideals and ideology around the spectrum in the two. There would desire to be no conflict in keeping with political party. in case you hate enormous oil for some reason or do no longer care relating to the atmosphere for some reason then a conflict would desire to exist..
