He has to do something. Chavez is wooing the leaders of those countries. bu$h has made so many enemies for America that he is getting desperate. Did you notice how Condaleeza voiced that statement. If she had said, "Chavez is ALSO tearing his country to shreds", it couldn't have been more obvious that bu$h is doing it to America. bobbie

Bush is afraid of Chavez?
Do you mean the fact that Chavez has a socialist agenda and other countries in South America are following his lead?
This should not be of major concern to Bush. It will be of major concern to US corporations with interests in Latin America, because they will lose their influence and a good deal of money. Perhaps Bush is concerned that the price of sugar, timber, oil and natural gas, minerals and other resources will go up. So what? Perhaps he should tell the American people not to eat so much sugar and use so much paper, oil and gas and copper!
If you're saying that Chavez poses some physical threat to the United States - that's a nonsense.

Ok, I can't believe it...
You and I agree on this one.
However there is a little difference. It's not Chavez that he's afraid of, it's his influence. Chavez could easily be taken out by Pat Robertson. The influence he will wield, albiet short term, could be devastating for the US in this hemisphere.
I feel that Bush has every reason to be afraid. Compound this with the illegal alien issue which he has REFUSED to address and the concern over terrorists crossing the border from Central America, and we have something to worry about.

To think that President Bush or anyone else in the US is "afraid" of Chavez is like saying
...I am afraid of the little puppy next door. :-)))))
Think about the source of these stories you are getting your information from -- Reuters. The liberal media will do anything to make President Bush or the US look bad -- they will never let facts get in the way of a good story.
Here are a few web sites that talk about your news source Reuters ...
From last year...
http://newsbusters.org/node/7204
From 2003 ...
http://www.honestreporting.com/articles/critiques/2003_Dishonest_Reporting_-Award-.asp
"Wall Street Journal columnist James Taranto writes that Reuters' anti-American sentiments have become more noticeable since the nine-eleven disaster." ...http://www.aim.org/media_monitor/A286_0_2_0_C/
There were many more hits on the search I did but I think you get the idea.
Of course if they report what your bias is already then go ahead and believe everything they write. Don't let the facts get in the way of your own opinion.
Think about it -- figure it out.

oh yeah, we are all terrified of Chavez. I mean really why wouldn't we be scared of a man who is trying to get us to attack so we have to pay for the destruction and revamping of his little country?
Why to you think Chavez is kissing Castro's *** these days? He wants backing and just trying to piss us off even more.

Whatever.... That is like saying "I put a bicycle in the river, and no fish rode it, they are afraid of bicycles!"
Bush isn't afraid of Chavez, he just doesn't want some idiot destabilizing what is left of South America's well run countries.
But feel free to put your own unique spin on it...
