has anyone ever forgotten how to swallow when they're eating?

Actually yes- it's scary and you end up spitting the food out in fear it will go down the wrong way.

There are many different problems that can prevent the esophagus from working properly. Some of these are minor, while others are more serious. If you have a hard time swallowing once or twice, you probably do not have a medical problem. But if you have trouble swallowing on a regular basis, you may have a more serious problem that needs treatment.

Not when I am eating, but I am a vocalist and I often find that I cannot swallow about 4 seconds before I need to start singing. It's like I physically am NOT able to swallow my spit no matter what?

Yea, I know what you mean. Just yesterday I forgot how to swallow then, just like that, I forgot how to keep my heart pumping and then the strangest thing of all I forgot how to breath. By the time I remembered I was dead. What a bad day.

I have done that actually. Its kinda freaky. You gotta wait like a couple of seconds, then it kicks in.
