That is an old saying, how true it is I don't know.I guess in most cases it is,because you know how it feels to be in love and to never ever experience that feeling I guess you would be missing something. And when it doesn't work out you feel awful and wish the pain to go away, but just think the next time you fall in love it could be forever. So even if things don't work out all the time, you don't ever want to go through life not feeling loved. It's a wonderful thing even the love from your family and friends. So yes it is better to be love and lose than to never experience it at all

Oh yes! Have loved and lost several times. Have had my heart broken twice; have broken hearts myself.
I'm in my mid-fifties.
Married once, didn't like it.
But kept on loving.
Life has been so varied and colourful.
I don't regret a moment of it.
I cannot imagine the wasteland my life may have been if I hadn't loved and lost.
Better a day as a lion than a lifetime as a lamb.

Yes it is better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all because with out love you can not feel truly alive.
Love is bitter sweet but with out it life would be very mundane.
Imagine never experiencing the joy and passion you feel when you first fall in love!

I cant see how it meant to be better! twice before I've Loved and Lost....lost a house, car, furniture. They will let keep a debt. Cant afford the nice things now, so can't loose much..Third time lucky.
As for a bird in the hand (Cassie) that means you get a crap on the wrist...

what is love?
if you don't know what it is and have never experienced it then you have lost.
is the loss greater than having had it and lost it? i think so yes because i think that in our lives we are ment to experience it many times over in many different ways.... i don't believe there is just one and only one person for you to love.... but it is such a special thing and rare enough, that if one found it they should try to hold onto it.

If you've never felt love, hatred, hurt, jealousy and all those other emotions that drive us nuts, then you wouldn't be a human being. Yes much better to feel than not feel, just don't get too depressed about it, life's too short

I don't know. Is it better to have been rich and lost everything or to have always been poor? I'm pretty sure it sucks more to lose then it is to never know what you're missing.

Yes. You have felt and known the blessing of love and are a more grounded person for it.
