Of course it's true, but it's not like CBS and NBC and all the big networks aren't reaaally liberal...you know? I'm not saying I am either of the two...I'm just wondering why people always seem frustrated that Fox is right wing.

ok, so Rupert Murdoch tried to sway people's views on republicans with his network. So what? Didn't Dan Rather try to do the same thing, except for liberals?

That, my dear, is a very good question. For years people were fed the liberal pablum from the "major networks". Now one comes along that bucks the system and people get crazy about it. In my opinion, the people on Fox that are conservative, traditional are upfront about it and tell the audience straight out. But on the other stations, the libs parade around acting like unbiased journalists (Chris Matthews, Paula Zahn, Keith Olberman etc) when it is painfully obvious that it couldn't be further from the truth.

Fox is ultra-conservative, whereas the networks may lean liberal but are not far-left.

I watch O'Reilly and Hannity and Colmes often, and also panels headed by Brett Hume, et al. Liberal voices - even mild ones - are shouted over, interrupted and for all practical purposes silenced. And when extremists like Bridget Gabriel and Michele Malkin get so much airtime on the channel, there is no other conclusion than Fox is far-right. (If you are unaware that these women have their own, personal agendas which have nothing to do with reality, do a little research).

At least O'Reilly has called his show "opinion-based" and not "news". I wish the others, especially Hannity, would be honest about it. Fox News is not a news network, it is a forum for conservative opinion. Calling Fox "news" is like calling Rush Limbaugh's show "public service radio".

Talk about a "propoganda machine" look what that idiot Arkin guy said about our troops. Anyone else wants to say NBC is not liberal left-wing, come on. Fox may be right-wing, but they are right in most of the things they say. There are some right-wingers out there that say some outlandish things that I don't agree with, one being Ann Coulter, but for those who are moderate, make much more sense than most liberals. I for one am an independent, you may say I sound right-wing, but nothing could be further from the truth. I see what is good and that is what I side with. I was completely pro Clinton in his years as president, and at the same time I was against most of the liberals in the congress and senate. At least when most conservatives take a stand, they stick to their guns, but when a liberal takes a stand, and a new poll shows that the majority of people disagree with their stand, they will change their position. For example, Hillary and her vote for war. All of a sudden her vote was "misused". Give me a break. I know there are good and bad on both sides, but it just seems as though the liberals will do anything to make the US look bad in the world for their political gain.

Just because CBS and NBC don't worship Ann Coulter, does not make them far-left. MSNBC is by far closer to being "fair and balanced" than Fox News is.

I accuse Fox News of having a right-wing bias in the same way one would accuse an orange of being orange, if the shoe fits...

Frustrated? You're damn right I am. I don't like my news to be served with a side of baseless attacks and ridiculous commentary. I prefer intelligent debate over pointless liberal bashing.

Fox viewers score far lower on tests of current events than viewers of any of the network news. Why? Because reality has a well-known liberal bias, apparently.

Fox's owner, Rupert Murdoch, recently admitted he used his network to try to sway public opinion to Bush's side on the war. Gee, is a news outlet supposed to do that?

People don't like Fox because they are a propaganda machine for some very evil men who are destroying our country for their fun and profit. And, it's so discouraging to see the American people forsake all our values, all our traditions, all our rights, all our common sense, because they've fallen victim to the endless propaganda.

I only listen to Fox on C-span, when they replay their Sunday talk show. And countless times, I've heard the Fox commentators say "We" and then correct themselves, "I mean, the republicans." It's despicable and they laugh right at us. And of course, Fox's own Tony Snow is now Bush's press spokesperson.

The networks are so not liberal it's sad. I watched CNN contradict the Pakistani president when he said the Iraq war was a mistake, then they booted him off the show and quoted the Pakistani embassy as saying Musharaff didn't mean it. The network folk never challenge the Bushies - Bob Schieffer on CBS is good friends with the White House.

If you want to hear a liberal newscast, you need to listen to Pacifica Radio. If you want to read a liberal newsmagazine you need to read "The Nation" or "the Progressive." There is simply nothing liberal about these networks owned by multinational corporations.

I think it's just the fact that they don't engage in gaybaiting that makes conservatives think they're liberal. They certainly didn't do a darn thing to report the truth about bush for 5 years.

It depends on your perspective. According to Progressives, CBS, NBC and the New York Times are conservative.

However, according to many 'Conservatives', John McCain is a Liberal.

If a President is doing badly with public opinion, regardless of the President's party, the press is going to move in for a feeding frenzy. If the Presiden't popularity is high, they treat him with very deferential respect.

I am not upset that Fox News is right wing. What really torques my gourd is their complete onesidedness coupled with their attack dog tactics.

And if you think ABC, NBC, & ABC are so liberal, try surfing the really left wing web sites. Do the same comparing Fox to the very right wing sites & you will find little or no difference. If you want balance in your news, try NPR or PBS, especially Jim Lehrer. It is no coincidence that he & Gwen Ifle were chosen to moderate 2 of the 3 Presidential candidates debates during 2004, & I believe 2000.

Before Fox News, Liberals had a monopoly on broadcast news. They came to believe that this monopoly was theirs by Divine right. They refuse to accept the new reality so they feel the need to constantly bash Fox.

See the problem is your view is skewered by FOX. The other networks you mention are actually pretty center they just seem way left from from your perspective, see if they really tote your personal worldview they seem good, if they make you look at other perspectives (I know it sucks you have to really think instead of have your life re-affirmed) you think they're to the left, most Americans find them centered, while fox may boast rating superiority from an individual source when you add up the numbers most of us still view the unbiased sources

to me, the difference is two fold...

1. they constantly say they are fair and balanced... it's almost like an inside joke over there or something...

2. they don't even try to hide it... I mean they have two of the top three conservatives commentators (O'Rieley and Hannity, Rush is probably no. 1)....

it's not like NBC or CBS has both Franken and Michael Moore...

I'm not saying that there isn't some bias... but it often doesn't seem like their even making an attempt to be objective at Fox...

MSNBC is pretty far out there though, with Matthews and Olberman...
