there is no independence day in Italy they celebrate Republic Day on June 2 to recognize when the country became a republic and the monarchy was banned. They also celebrate Unification day on March 17 to remember when the entire peninsula was unified as one nation.

~Take your pick, there are so many to choose from. But Sicily has 47 more. Unfortunately for the Siclians, none took. Moors the pity.
