no, its difficult for everyone. Your brain is actually programmed to sleep when it gets dark. The pineal gland releases the sleep hormone melatonin.

When I worked on boats, that was one way I'd wake myself up, or "ease into wakefullness", as I called it back then... The alarm would go off, and I'd switch on a bright lamp right over my head. Used to get me up within a couple minutes.

BUT, I acclimated, and exhaustion won over, and it stopped working, and I over-slept a lot.

If you're light sensitive, make sure you dim your surroundings for at least 30 minutes before you go to bed and try to sleep... just turning down the lights that much or more, generally in your daily routine if you can, will help your light sensitivity.

I can fall asleep with the lights on, but then I will wake up later and turn them off. Then I get annoyed even with the bathroom night light shining in from under the door.

I sleep with the glow of the direct TV box on. But that's all the light I like!

No. When I was little I had to have the TV on. Now I can't stand it when there's light in my room when I'm trying to sleep.

No, I can't sleep with the lights on. However, having the tv on doesn't seem to bother me. Go figure.

No, I need to sleep in the dark or the room has to be dimly lighted for me to truly sleep.

I can fall asleep reading, (with the lights on) but I'll wake up later on and have to turn off the light.
