As a Libertarian, I am opposed to virtually all of his policies. Iraq only being one of them. He has expanded the roll, and cost, of Government with additional corporate and private welfare, burdened the taxpayers with an ineffective and costly drug program, done nothing about immigration, continues to support the "War on Drugs", and in general has made Amierica less safe than before.

Basically ...a liberal is someone that has no respect for the Constitution of the United States -- they think that the US has to "progress" as we become more enlightened. Whereas the founding fathers believed in limited government, liberals want to go back to the monarchy days. They think the more government, the better -- Uncle Sam will take care of everyone. People are generally too stupid to know how to spend their own money and run their own lives. Thankfully, there are liberal universities, media and politicians that will take care of the masses while we sit around and watch TV.

The only area they do not believe in big government is with the military. They believe you can talk terrorists out of killing you even though they hate you. Besides that military money can be spent on more social programs or to save a rare bird or fish.

Conservatives on the other hand believe that everyone should have to work for a living and decide how they spend their own money. They believe as history has proven, when a government gets too big and powerful, the people no longer have a say on how to live their lives. They believe that FREEDOM is precious and worth fighting for -- not only for ourselves but also for our children.

President Bush is not a conservative -- he was just "more" conservative than the two losers he ran against in the last two elections.

Think about it -- figure it out.

Liberal is one of those nebulous terms that means different things to different people. I define liberal as having a tendency to expand the scope and power of government; therefore, I would consider W. to be a liberal.

I consider myself a conservative Libertarian and I criticize W. all the time.

If you know conservatives who can't stand Bush, then you answered your second question. No, not everyone who criticizes Bush is a liberal.

As for your first question, that's a very long discussion.

a liberal is someone who doesn't have bigotry views, is broad minded (even to different views). Bush is an idiot but just because a person is a liberal or a conservative doesn't mean they're for or against a particular political party or member.
