16 GB of ram 667 mhz DDR2 (8 x 2gb)
and ....

with 16 gb of memory, can it run purely from memory

i mean can u put the entire os on the memory (16 gb should be enough)
run it off there instead of the hard drive

Hmm thats interesting, it might, but remember its called RAM "Random Access Memory" so you would need a special program to do so. Cuz things get constantly over-written in the ram.

what do you mean run it completely from memory? The operating system itself is on the hard drive.

It could very easily with a live cd, but alas. to my knowledge there are none. That's a LINUX thing.
