Most runway models were already tall and thin to begin with - I don't think they were overweight and then suddenly dropped to a size 0 so they could model. Also most runway models aren't particularly "exotic" (whatever that means...) - most of their faces are relatively common. Once they became models they may diet to become even thinner to have an edge up on the competition, since as we all know, extreme thinness is highly valued by the fashion community.

When it comes to high fashion runway modeling, it actually has very little to do with a girl's face, but lots to with how well clothes will hang on her. Models are chosen for their ability to show off the outfit to it's fullest potential. Designers tend to focus on their creation, and don't want someone who's curvy hips are going to make the dress sit in an unflattering way. I'm not in any way condoning the way designers make clothes for an impossible physique- it's just the nature of the business. Runway models aren't needed for their stunning beauty (look at Kate Moss) but instead on how well they can be a walking hanger for a designer's creation.

I have no clue , I mean the women who are going to be wearing these clothes aren't that thin anyway so what the heck do they put skeletons on the runway . Honestly it is like sick to be able to see there collar bones and rib cage sticking out in designer clothing , why not have healthy people on the runway who actually make the clothing look attractive so people will want to buy it ? I bet if they started putting more "believable" girls on the runway more people would buy designer clothing .

Well, the old saying "where there's a will, there's a way" applies to the modeling industry. Sometimes runway models get booked just for being skinny and tall enough to fit the clothes, since the sample sizes come in pretty much one size, which is really, really small.

people automaticly think just because your skinny your pretty in the fashion world they dont go on face appears but how skinny you are.or maybe there arent many skinny ppl anymore so they have to take what out there no matter whats they look like.

no they are working that's suggested as a expert face (severe advertising the product) smiling and being to incredibly will take the concentration off the dresses to the form themselves...the trim bodies are to enhance the dresses
