Hell no! It shouldn't even be called nu-metal because it is not metal at all. I hate all of that crap.

Deciding where a certain band fits as a style is extremely subjective. Some stuff that others classify as metal I classify as rock, etc. One thing I think we CAN agree on - for the most part "Hollywood" as an industry is absolutely CLUELESS as to what "rock" really is... I remember when they said "Grease" was a "rock'n'roll musical"... NO IT ISN'T!!! LOL!!!

system of a down is considered nu metal which i believe to be a fancy way of saying hard rock basically i wouldn't consider them to be metal their stuff is much too heavy (as far as tuning goes its certainly hard enough to be death metal) they play in lower keys than most metal bands and their stuff is alot less technicaly hard fewer scales and such than in metal so no they are hard rock
