If you are the sort that takes it to heart when someone is disappointed in you and wants you to improve, then it might do you some occasional good to receive a good dose of discipline from that person to drive the message home. Getting a spanking from just anyone won't do that, because there has to be that emotional attachment and respect for the spanker. Even if you learned that you enjoyed spanking, it wouldn't be enjoyable if it were for punishment, because you would be in a different mindset for it.
I have spanked many girls, for both pleasure and discipline, and it's that mindset that sets the two apart. My roommate likes to be spanked, but if she knows that she's getting one because she's upset or disappointed me, then she can't find any enjoyment in the act at that point.
