No, that would require the gravity and pressure of a super massive black hole and that isn't something humans could even get remotely close to touching with a finger tip. A black hole can have the power to fold space and time, it has been documented and is a leading theroy. Even if humans had access to a blackhole, they would be crushed if they came near it.

It requires space to separate two objects.
If you tried to fold space back on itself,how far would you have to move it to bring it into contact with another part of it?
Branes are out it is not a sheet it is a sphere

Take a sheet of 8 1/2 by 12 inch paper. and try to fold it in half 36 times. I think it takes more than space, but just some spatial thinking. :)

A--What the hell is this thing about 36 light years? What is out there 36 light years away that you so desperately need to get to?
B--The answer is still NO. The idea of some kind of controlled bending of space is pure science fiction, and does not relate to any technological reality that could ever be possible anywhere.
So please, go out and find some friends, have some fun, and enjoy life as it is. And forget f!cking 36 light years. Nobody lives there any more.

Using e=mc^2, the amount of energy needed to get a concentration of energy to make a black hole would be on the level of a few suns.
We don't have that.

Right now you are traveling faster than light and you reached your present location yesterday itself.Space gets folded more often than we know and that`s why our heads spin like a top.
