I buy things for my daughter and she says what else did you buy me, and the other day I bought her lunchables and she said, "I'm mad at you mom I wanted the ones with the juice in it".
I would like to teach my daughter appreciate what you have, any suggestions on how I can talk with her.
Thanks so much for your input.

Okay I had to go through this with my 7 year old not to long ago What I did is when we cleaned up her room I had her put her toys in two piles one that she played with and liked and the other one that she just never really cared after we did this I also went through her cloths and shoes that was either to small or she just never wore " because she didn't like them" After we did this I took her and her stuff to a place that accepts these things and made her give them to the ladies there and she wanted to know why I explained to her that we have so much and there are people that don't have anything and that is why we gave them this. Also I made her help me do food baskets for people and help deliver them that way she could see people even kids who needed and did not have this seemed to help some .

All kids are ungrateful. It is our faults for overindulging them all of their lives. I took my kids to see The Pursuit of Happiness and they finally realized that they have it pretty good. We also watched this show about these kids that didn't have homes and all they wanted for Christmas was a roof over their heads. Your daughter is kind of young but you can start pointing out to her how lucky she really is to have the things that she has and show her how some other children have very little. My kids are 10 and they are finally starting to get it.
