lighter skin tone- blue, pinks and purples

medium skin tone- reds, greens,browns and blacks

dark skin tones- white, orange reds

It really depends on how you look- do you look better in warm colors or cool? If you have cool skin tone you will look good in colors like green and blue, warm skin tones can try dark red. Black will go good with pretty much everything. Why don't you go to the store, pick out few gown that you like and try them on to see which one looks best?

edressme.com and tjformal.com have a lot of options! I ordered my prom dress from TJ Formal and it was a strapless ball gown that was turquoise at the top and faded to yellow at the bottom, with lots of beads and sequins!

Go with something that looks good with your skin tone, eyes, and hair color. Different colors will be in style at different times, so you might look at a couple of magazines to help give you ideas.

light tone - pink, peach, blue (light colors)

Tan - orange, purple, green

Dark - have fun! anything bright

you dont have to do this if you find something gorgeous wear it who cares=] have fun
