IT MEANS DO IT!!!! TAKE A CHANCE AND SEE IF IT WORKS OUT.

This means go for it. See what happens. If all goes well it is stuck to the wall. If not, it doesn't stick. For example, if you are a teacher and there is a student in your class that just can't get it and you have an idea that you think will help, introduce the student to the idea. If it works, you have excelled. it has stuck.

The first time I ever heard that phrase was several(many) years ago and it was in reference to men's shorts/underwear. If it sticks it's full of s__t!! Now there may be other meanings but that's the one I know about!!

Yep Mr. Spin, that's what I am talking about!!

to test if spaghetti is done cooking, you throw it against the wall and see if it sticks. If it does, it's done cooking. So that phrase means to test something out to see if it's "done". Or finished.

An old expression. A time for a change.

It means if you toss your underwear across the room, and it sticks to the wall, it is time to change into a new pair of underwear.

It orginiated with cooking of pasta I believe. That is how they tested it to see if it was correctly cooked. If it stuck, it was too sticky, over done. Of course if means other things these days I'm sure.
