I want to improve my shot...greatly. I need a way to measure my shot to the hoop, such as aiming for the back of the rim or something like that that works well. I need to know how to bring it up and how to release it. Latley, I've tried to release it like a pro but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. Plus, it's hard for me to get a spin on the ball without the ball going more then two feet! Thanks.

right foot slightly ahead of the left. Then make sure that the BALL is lined up with your ELBOW and that your elbow is lined up with your KNEE and that your knee is lined up with your TOE. Then make sure you bend your knees, the further from the basket the more you bend your knee (knees are the power in the shot).

Follow through on your release aiming at the front or back of the rim (aim small miss small). Finish your shot on your toes leaning forward or a small hop forward. Follow through with the hand reaching almost straight up, like reaching in a cookie jar when you are a little kid and not quite tall enough.

Lots of repetition. Think...toe, knee, ball- follow through.

Good Luck!

Dont try to hit like the pro it requires a lot power to bring the ball to spin. while hitting a hoop shot aim it the corner of square which is above the ring. while hitting shots far from the ring make sure the put power with only right hand(for right handed person) and the ball should form a 45 degree angle with the forehead and your right hand should form a 90 degree angle and make sure to roll your fingers when you release the ball to get a proper backspin and jump too much while shooting.practice first with one hand only.
I am playing basket from 3 months only but my shooting is almost perfect.I practice for 4-5 hours a day
