Shortland Street is a serial medical drama centred around the lives and loves of the staff and patients of Shortland Street Hospital; an engaging and entertaining mix of medical crisis, human drama, romance and suspense.
Set in the high-pressure environment of an inner city district hospital, Shortland Street follows the day to day romances and professional dilemmas of a team of caring professionals, committed to their patients, and to each other. The series has drawn acclaim for its handling of issues such as safe sex, AIDS, child abuse, alcoholism, cot death and suicide.
Shortland Street is New Zealand's longest running drama series. Now in its 14th year of production, Shortland Street has been one of the highest rating drama programmes on New Zealand television since it began screening on 25 May 1992. With an audience share of over 50%, it is a national institution, inspiring study guides, web sites, theses, exhibitions and much speculation over the nation's coffee cups.
Shortland Street has an extensive international audience, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Southern Africa and the Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Ireland, Iceland, Finland, and Malta, as well the smaller English speaking territories, of Fiji, Niue, the Cook and Solomon Islands and the Bahamas.

Yes and still airing to this day (19th December 2015) here in New Zealand. It's a medical show about the Shortland Street hospital. Easiest way to explain it is that it's a drama, kinda like aussies Home & Away but set in a hospital.

it is not my cup of tea. i haven't considered any for nicely over a year. no longer via fact the uncommon social accumulating TV2 had some thing invaluable at 7.30. And on those activities i could be annoyed at TV2 for working extra time lower back so I wasn't involved. at the instant TV2 somewhat monitors something good in any respect. And one question I even have concerning TVNZ: TV1 frequently runs on time, or close to sufficient to. yet interior the evenings, each at times TV2 could be working previous due via as much as 7 minutes. Why is that?
