they just call it The 18 hour bra because it's comfortable enough to wear for 18 hours.
That and it keeps it's shape and form for 18 hours as well.. Most bras after a few hours it stretches out.
Playtex 18 Hr bra is comfortable.. they just call it the 18 hr bra for those reasons.
Oh and some women do have to wear a bra for 18 hrs or longer sometimes. Im an RN and I usually work two 20hr shifts a week.. so they do come in handy!
I know if I wore a push up bra from Victorias secret for 20 hrs I wouldn't be able to feel my shoulders or my boobs! lol.

it prvides better support, after wearing a bra for several hours they tend to misshape, and go where they want. 18 hour bras hold their shape better, in turn giving you more support and less " adjusting" time..

Its just suppose to be more comfortable, something you could wear 18 hours before wanting to taking it off...

It's just a brand name and a way to imply that the bra is comfortable all day.

The eighteen hour bra is suppose to be comfortable for eighteen hours.
