Because on Batista's Wikipedia profile if you look at his championships and accomplishments it says the wrestling observer rewarded him the most overrated wrestler of 2006 award and some stupid Batista fans keep editing the article to say most underrated.

After watching his last match against Kennedy, Batista is beyond overrated.
Batista has been blowing spots in matches way too often. He takes a massive amount of "punishment" only to hit a couple of moves to win his main event matches. Batista's mic-work is spiraling downward quicker than a dead pigeon in mid-air. His personality is suffering from a severe case of missing charisma. He went from being an animal (which worked for him) to being a suit-and-tie teddy bear with muscles. JBL described Batista perfectly: "a million-dollar body with a nickel brain."
David Batista may be a nice guy in real life, but right now the belt should be on someone else.

Because most fans still remember his time in Evolution and his first title run before the wellness program started and before he got injured. When the wellness program started, Batista lost some weight, but the drop in his in-ring performance wasn't that noticeable. When he came back from the injury, however, he was nowhere near his old self. His moves look weaker now, he's bad on the mic, and he's no longer the unstoppable monster; he's just some muscleman trying to look tough. He sounds like someone who knows that his 15 minutes have nearly run out.

We subscribe to PW Torch and many of the writers say that Batistas time is up as champion,and as much as I hate to say this I have to agree he was better on Raw but evr since he's been moved to Smackdown his popularity has dwindled It's like he doesn't even try any more.
