This web page has the periodic table and if you click on the underlined element, it will tell you more about it. http://periodic.lanl.gov/default.htm

Go to this page, which is a study guide: http://www.mhln.com/ob/assets/00024501/pdf/00024634.pdf and print out the pdf and see if that helps.

Open note test? You are VERY lucky.

For each page in the chapter, right down a bullet point or two. This way, you will have a brief summary of each page in the chapter written in your own words so that you understand it. Also, keep a page in your notes for vocabulary and the periodic table. The things you don't understand, ask your teacher, classmate, or parent(s).

Make sure you read slow. Read a sentence over and over again until you can try to make sense of it. If you can't, once again, ask someone.

The best way to understand and comprehend what you read is to read more novels. Believe it or not, it really does help in every subject! English class is more important than you think!

Good luck!

Go through the chapters ASAP and highlight what you think is important. Make a star next to something you don't understand, and get tutoring before the test. On the notes that you're allowed to have, go through the chapter and list all of the things you have highlighted. Include also lists of elements, or things from diagrams, etc. Also, it helps to have someone study with you....when you "teach" someone else, it really helps you as well. One last thing....NO CRAMMING...you will not do well if you cram. Good luck!!

Take reading notes where you put what the author says in your own words. For the table of the elements. Copy it out by hand. Writing it out will help you remember it. Also, discuss your problem with the teacher, parents, ask for help.
