A bigger question is: Why don't people want them here but still want someone to pick their fruit or mow their lawns?

I think the problem with your question is that it assumes ALL of the US doesn't want Mexicans here, and ALL of the US loves Mexican culture and food.

Unfortunately, a lot of people are afraid that by letting people immigrate here they would lose jobs and stuff. This has been true for a long, long time. Before it was Mexicans, many other immigrant groups were discriminated against, including Irish and German and lots of others. I happen to think this is stupid and short sighted; our country is built on immigrants, and the energy and ingenuity of immigrants has made us what we are.

I love walking through a mall and hearing Spanish, English, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, and probably more spoken. It's the strength of this country and why I love living in the US and specifically in California, in the San Francisco Bay Area, probably the most diverse place in the whole world.

I am sorry you feel unwanted. Please believe that not everyone feels this way!

It's not that the US doesn't want Mexicans here, we just want to be here legally. Illegal immigrants are a drain on tax payers especially in the health care industry (someone has to pick up the tab). Mexicans are very much apart of the US. They bring many different talents that can fill many jobs, in return producing a more vital economy and leaving more money in people's pockets.

Think of it this way.. would you want a group of people coming to your party and drinking your beer, while not invited or paying for anything they took.

Lets put this question into a broader context...I will make no assumptions of you,so you make no assumptions of me...

Why is it that Mexicans like alot of Customs, Food, and (Stuff),
that are typical of the US ,yet Mexicans dont want Americans(Whites for arguments sake) going to mexico ,Illegally, and taking their jobs, demanding the schools teach their kids english, going to the Hospitals en masse,Free of charge of course, and demanding the government pay for
their food and housing thru subsidies. And while we are there,we'll just raise our Homelands Flag in spite, while listening to our English Radio Rock and Hip Hop Stations at 500 Decibels. We dont want to become Proud Mexican Citizens,we just want to be in mexico getting what we want....oh and we want to vote too,cuz we need to be represented by one of our own.

Do you see how ignorant that Question was?

BTW- Im all for legal immigration..i dont care where you are from, its the strength of this country. Just get over the victim complex..geez...
