I have run CPU-Z and it says that it is running at 800mhz, but the computer says it is a 1.6ghz processor, what is going on?

don't worry. the 800mhz is running in 2 channels or some, for a total of 1.6ghz.

the internal clock speed is actually 2x, if you take my meaning. sorry i do not know the specific technical term, but this is a normal reading.

to be sure, open your control panel> go to system (or performance and maintainance)> general tab. you will see your comps specs there. windows version, ram, and cpu type and speed. in that tab, it should read 1.6ghz

If you are on a laptop, the actual speed switches to save battery power. It goes up when you need it. There shouldn't be a problem.

have you cleaned out your pc recently? Run your maintenance programm, defrag,get rid of cookies,and tempfiles that will help a lot
