I do mitosis research and I can say with 100% certainty that the answer is the S phase (S stands for "synthesis"). It's actually part of the larger mitotic phase generally termed "Interphase", when replication takes place. So I would say that your answer would be "Interphase." Please take the time to study mitosis, it's incredibly wonderful!

S phase replicates only the DNA - part of the nucleus. Most of the replication occurs in propahse.
