Canada's government is more Socialistic than the US. They have more government programs, like free health care, but they have much higher taxes to pay for it.

The message is that the government knows how to handle the money than the citizens.

In the US, we're responsible for more of our own money and how we spend it. That makes it easier to invest and make a business grow. It's much better for the economy. It's not a totally free market, but it's closer.

The Canadian form of government is based on the model found in the United Kingdom. They have a Parliament with a House of Commons and a House of Lords rather than a Congress. Instead of a President, the head of the government is the Prime Minister, with Queen Elizabeth II as the head of state as Canada is part of the commonwealth.
