You should take a look at you mothernoard's user manual. In Memory section of the manual you can find how many slot does your motherboard have and what kind of RAM they support. You should also pay attention to campatibility of your current DIMMs with the one you are going to buy. The combination of your current and DIMMs is also an important matter which may be mentioned in the same user manual.
Any way, If I were you I would have contacted the motherboard support to make sure my choice did not make any further inconveniences.

Use CPU-Z to be certain the RAM help (SDRAM, DDR, DDR2, etc) and RAM velocity (800mhz is seeming to be simple), After that, the form shouldn't rely. merely velocity and socket. Run CPU-Z on his pc, by using the way. the simplest thank you to tell if something is SDRAM, is that if the RAM has 2 indents on the backside.

http://www.crucial.com has a scan that will tell you what you need to know. you can either use the advisor tool which you select what computer you have or you can use the system scanner which will determine everything for you. you have to download a file for the system scanner however.

ok you want to choose the same type of ram
its the basic ram used today DDR not DDR2 or 3 those wont work
so when you go to like tiger direct the things that will work is like
1 gb DDR DIMM
or 512 DDR DIMM
the ram at the bottom should look like this
