Actually, it has nothing to do with the chemical or liquid we commonly call ether. That's a sort of knock-out gas. When people talk about the ether, in a metaphysical or spiritual sense, they are refering to the basic molecules of what we know as air, or energy. It's like trying to say just where cyberspace exists. -"It rides on the ether." So when the spirits communicate through the ether, no, the are not coming up out of a jar of liquid that creates hallucinogenic fumes! They are simply "crossing the veil" of all the heavy gases that make up the air around us.

Spirits have many sources available to them for communication purposes...electrically based seeming most effective & useful--an open mind & heart being the greatest barrier buster.
I think you are probably wondering more about manifestational communication, yes? Like seeing a ghost? Although, ethers do provide a density that can be used, I believe most find a high moisture content, which provides better electrical conduction, the prime choice.

I guess so. Because things that can be seen touch and are material they materialize, as the composition of material things is solid, they hold their solid molecules, which holds the shape in one solid composition.!!!
Things that evaporate, like water, alcohol, and liquids, they evaporate, as their composition breaks in smaller molecules , it can NOT hold it's shape. As water evaporates it changes it's composition into vapor.
Spirits, or souls; can be seen under certain conditions, and also can be feel and heard, they ether. As "ETHER", is a Not material or a vapor, it can NOT hold it's solid as matter, or break it's composition as vapor. So it appears to the naked eye as transparent/full of energy. This energy could be positive as it could also be negative.
Ether maintains it's unique, composition, it can be feel but it can't be touch, it can be heard because it is a strong composition that holds it's own individualized energy, also it can move, and make it presence!!!
