I have both but I prefer cats. They are much cleaner, and more independent. Give them enough food and water and their litter box to last them a couple of days while you go out of town and they will be fine. Dogs, you have to either take them with you, or have a friend come over and let them out so they don't crap all over your house. And cats are more cuddly and lovable. Dogs can be sweet but they are so filthy because they drool and go outside and roll in the dirt. Thats just my opinion. ;)

A "cat person." (I have a cat and a dog. They have two totally different kinds of personalities. Some people just don't appreciate the difference between them. To each his/her own...)

I have never had a dog, only cats. I just think cats are less work and more cuddly.

I hate cats! All they do is scratch everything to pieces and cough up hairballs.
Dogs are fun. You can teach them to do tricks and they'll play with you. Cats are just...there.

I have one of each - they each have a place. Like comparing apples and oranges. People have a preference, doesn't mean one is inherently better than the other.
