Each and every vote comes down ultimately to an individuals key issues that concern them personally.
What are your most important issues and priorities that will determine your voting decision in 08?

As for me, many issues concern me, Fiscally, Morally, Etc. However due to the World we find ourselves in I have personally come to the realization that unless we get control of Terrorism, nothing else will matter.
This is why, for example, I could with a fairly clear conscience vote for Rudy Giulliani though He is Socially Liberal.
He has shown a strong Reaganesque Resolve towards the defense of the Country.
Besides, as for issues like Abortion it is mostly the children of Liberals who are being eliminated anyway, greatly reducing their future influence on society anyway.

Sean- Yea, I know it may sound heartless but if they want to kill off their future...Who am I to stop them.

Jacksmom- Thanks for the kind words. And I can personally attest to your dilemma with Customer Service. Just today I called Tech Support and thought I was ordering Pork Fried Rice!

I like your style, Gizmo. I've looked at your questions and I like your description of yourself. Kudos on being a straight-shooter not afraid to defend. We need more folks like you here on Y! Answers.

Now, to answer your question...

I think we need to find someone who is able to defend the country without making a complete *** of himself. Someone who will protect us, defend us, while at the same time taking into consideration the feasibility of winning the war, and actually considering the deaths of the soldiers as a loss, instead of just a number on a price tag.

I am definitely anti-abortion, except in cases where the mother and/or child's heath is actually in danger.

I would also like to find someone who is against shipping all of our jobs overseas. I'm sick of calling customer service and talking to someone who doesn't even speak English. I'm not sure if that bothers anyone else, but it really rubs me the wrong way.

I can't see myself voting for Clinton (not because she's a woman, or because her husband is Bill... just on general principles) or Obama (don't care for him, either). Giulliani, though, would be alright. I read one of his books. He seems pretty solid.

Unless you are a New Yorker you only know Rudy from the days surrounding 9/11, but you probably forget that he tried to suspend the 2001 mayoral election becuase he said he was the only one who could handle the job in a "post 9/11 world". This and his exploitation of 9/11 for personal gain is enough to disqualify him for the office of President of the United States.

Rudy the image is not Rudy the person. Kinda like the current President.

Economy. Will the stimulous checks really help? If not, what then? Gas at $ 7.00 like in Europe? With that big field sitting off the Texas coast and that enormous field under the Alaska Shelf.... why? We have the technology to go into deep water. It's been done in Brazil and West Africa. Obama spoke carelessly and Clinton has been piling it on and on and on shamelessly. We need to stick with the issues. People want to know if they can feed their families and gas up their vehicles at the same time..... or will they have to make a choice.

What concerns me most is our open borders and the threat of terrorist just walking across them,Giulliani seems to embrace illegal immigration,so I would not vote for him. Also he is a Roman Catholic , Not necessarily my opinion, but its a concern http://www.pccmonroe.org/Ecumenism/Reconquista.htm Im looking into Duncan Hunter,he seems more like hes concerned about American citizens and our country ,not just the almighty dollar.

Haha at your reasoning for going pro on abortion as long as it's for the right reasons.

I could see myself voting for Giuliani as well. I started reading about him and his days as a law and order man. He was impressive. Although he did have some problems as Mayor of New York, he showed courage and resolve when it counted.
