im looking for a dog, and in the place part it doesnt say birmingham so im not sure what county its in

but there is a new county called the west midlands

i think birmingham was half in warwickshire and half in staffordshire before that

Birmingham is as far as I know a metropolitan borough and thus not in a county any more.
