My little girl is due April 21st, and the name I have chosen for her is Scarlett Rose. There's a couple of reasons behind that.

#1 - The red rose is my favorite flower, and most people know scarlett is another term for red.

#2 - Scarlett as in Scarlett O'Hara from Gone With The Wind (one of my favorite movies)

I am definately going with the name but I just want more opinions on it to see how other people react to her name :)

I always love the name Scarlett. I wouldn't use it, but it's very nice. Scarlett Rose. It's such a pretty name, way more attractive than some of the insane names you hear people picking these days. Sensible, chic, classic, and as anyone who hangs around here knows, Rose is my favorite middle name.

Good luck!

well, I understand your reasoning behind the name... but will SHE, in 13 or 14 years? I went to school with a young lady with the unlucky name of Rose Bush. Now who in their right mind would name a child that and not expect every other kid in the WORLD to tease their kid? I'm sure her parents thought at the time that her name was unique and wonderful, but SHE sure didn't! So think about your little one down the road. Will she be comfortable with the name? After all, it will be HER name that she will carry around forever, not yours. If you still think it's a keeper, then congratulations on the new member of your family, Miss Scarlett Rose

It's pretty a friend of mine has a daughter named scarlett, but I'm not sure what they used for the middle name. It's a nice name, very classic.
I'm glad you didn't try to be "hip" and take a nice name and spell it all weird, I feel sorry for kids whose parents were out of control and changed a decent name to something just odd.
It's nice to see someone who can choose a beautiful name with such background to the choosing, it'll be a nice story to tell your daughter one day.

It's very pretty. Just bear in mind that the names, in that order, could lead to a certain amount of teasing. In respect of another poster's suggestion regarding spelling, I would avoid unusual spellings. I work for the county government here, and you can't *imagine* the trouble we have finding people on the computer systems because of unique spellings that parents think are 'cute'. It really makes our job much more difficult than it needs to be, and it takes longer to help our clients.
