I think forgiving is hard, but necessary, and forgetting is NOT necessary. If they lied once, you can believe that they will lie again, and you need to consider that if you decide to resume your relationship.
In a court of law, during a trial, the jury is informed that if it can be proved that the defendant lied once, it is acceptable to assume that the defendant will lie about other things.
Goes the same way in regular life, I think.

Although I do not know the situation, nor care to, It is very hurtful to be lied to by a friend. It is important to tell your friend exactly how you feel and what about the situation is specifically giving you grief.
It's important to forgive, but not to excuse rude behavior, If you brush it off as though it doesn't bother you, you open yourself off to people taking advantage of you.

i think it would be pretty hard to forgive them. my 1 friend did that 2 my other friend, but she only lied for 5-10 minutes and it took her a few minutes for her 2 get over it. i don't think that is really what a true friend is.

Depends on the severity of the lie. Then again a friend shouldn't lie.

yeah sometimes! i understand that through experience..
but still you have to forgive them no matter how bad they are...
if they did something wrong just be nice forgive and be a good friend to them even though they are not.. .
but be wise and cautious to whom you'll going to trust with next time...

it sucks wen a fren lie to us.. it shook the frenship a bit doesnt it.. but u got to consider wat's the lie about.. if it's a white lie, do juz forgive and forget.. hear out her reasons y she lie to u.. but if it's a harsh lie.. its reasonable to be frustrated and we may say we 'forgive' but we wil neva forget and that's what hurts the most.. not able to forget that ur fren had lied to u..

no, i dont think it is. my best friend has been lieing to me and treating me like **** for the past month and has never even bothered to apologize to me. i realized its time to move on, you cant get upset about one person when there are so many more peopleout there that wont lie to you and are actually worth it
