I've been considering it, but have heard its not good for those who don't cope well with stress.

Don't let those rumors break your spirit! The calling to be a nurse can be very exciting and very rewarding.

If you really have some anxiety about it, call up a local nursing program or hospital and describe your situation and ask if you can buy a current nursing student a Starbucks and ask him/her about his/her experience.

There is such a HUGE nursing shortage that the nursing school and the hospital will both bend over backwards to hook you up with someone.

Yes, nursing school can be stressful at times. The object is to stay on top of things. A lot of dedication is needed to get through it. But, it's a huge accomplishment once your finished. But, the field of nursing is stressful also. You are responsible for people's lives. One little mistake could end up hurting someone unintentionally. So school and your career kinda go together as far as stress is concerned. But, after saying all of that, it is very rewarding also.

im not a nurse but my brother and sister are nurses, and they are indeed stressed
why just consider? if you would choose a career be reminded that it should be your passion, the one thing you know you would enjoy doing
i know nurses get paid a lot, but most of them never really like their job
my brother wanted to become a lawyer, but he had to be practical
so he took up nursing, he seems kind of happy right now, but he is still bored working at the hospital, so bored in fact and the only relaxation he has right now is playing ps2 games

my sister she is so stressed out i cant even see her smile, too demanding

"if you dont really have much passion for nursing then choose a course and take up something that would define you and would guarantee happiness"

it depends on who you are and whether you're doing what you wanna do. Any job can be stressful but nursing is also quite rewarding
