Why do websites make you put in a validation code for almost everything? and why are the letters messed up?

To prove that you are a human and not a bot. Only humans can read the messed up letters, machines cannot - yet.

This is to ensure a human is typing in the data and not a hacker / spamming system. Only a human can understand / work out the code and type it in where as the image means nothing to a pc.

Bascially it ensures that you are a person.

Its for those loser spamming people, they make bots to auto-fill info, with this new picture-validation system, its annoying but it works.
