I'm turning 25 this weekend and because I am turning 25, I will no longer be on my dad's insurance plan that he has with his work. My job's insurance policy doesn't kick in for several months. I have a pre-existing condition and most insurance companies require you to be on their plans for up to 6 months before they'll recognize my condition. The only problem is, my condition is acting up and by the time I go to get help from a doctor for it, I will be off my dad's plan so I am wondering if it would be likely to stay with the insurance agency under my own name so I wouldn't have to go through the waiting period?

It sounds like it would be a good idea to stay with your dad's insurance if it isn't super spendy to do so. If you get stuck, I have a great company that will accept pre existing conditions and it is very reasonable. Only $49.95 for individual health. They are all so different, it is difficult to answer without knowing the company.
