Probably most straight people do in some form. I'm straight, and I hate to admit this, but it's very hard not to treat a gay person differently than anyone else. I'm intimidated by gay guys because I feel like they're competition sometimes. And I mean you sometimes HAVE to treat them differently. I have two gay guy friends who basically act like girls. I can't talk to him like a guy when all he wants to do is talk about boys and clothes. I wouldn't discuss that with a straight guy.
A lot of people consider homosexuality to be unnatural. It's a religious and a cultural thing.

If you mean "people in this society" as the LGBT community I'd say many do mainly for the fact that they feel they can relate better and can truly be themselves.
I treat gay people and straight people the same. I don't care who someone is as long as they treat me with respect I'll do the same.

i dont, i gots lots of gay friends. the only ones i treat diff r the ones that get on my nerves, but that cuz they r hella annoying, not becuase they gay. my fiancee was lez for a while and she still has alot of lez friends so the whole gay thing is like no big deal to me, they just normal to me

I do, but then again I'm in the community. I usually have a more positive attitude towards other LGBT people when I first meet them, but I don't allow it to cloud my judgment.
