I'm sure there's a name for everything. When a person is young, there are many insecurities we feel...are we going to fit in, be popular, pretty enough? We want to be accepted and we compare ourselves to other people.
We are all unique and created for a purpose. I heard this all my life, but not until I got older did I believe it. Read in the Bible what God says about you. He thinks you're pretty special. Ask Him to show you that. He will.

After going from BDD to anorexia, I can tell you that it's a difficult fight to duke out on your own. I still have trouble seeing myself as "normal" so far as height and weight are concerned (being about 5'2 and 123 lbs. now, after putting on a lot of weight when I finally got a hold of my eating disorder). Therapists may be helpful, but in my experience a lot of them just aren't that good. My suggestion, if you don't take the advice of the above commenter who said to look for support groups online (a very good idea, but not the be-all end-all), is to talk to a guidance counselor. I don't know if you're even in school, but all public schools and universities offer (or SHOULD offer) free counseling.

I'm available to chat if you need someone who's going through the same thing, but I'm sure you can find thousands of people worse off than I am that can help you more.

Your husband needs to tell her to no longer call anymore or you are able to merely tell her yurself on the telephone. Then. If she doesnt comply deliver an authorized letter. If she nevertheless doesnt comply tell her that if she would not end harrasing you and your loved ones which you will record a restraining order with the government. don't be impolite or say curse words or something which she will use against you. Be very mature and company approximately it and be the bigger individual. If she nevertheless doesnt understand you're able to be able to desire to talk to the law enforcement officials as that's pointless harrassment. Your husband could have a annoying time speaking to her so dont be too annoying on him yet tell him your concerns and notice how he's taking it. if he's supportive then it skill he's on yourside. otherrwise perhaps he isnt dependable to you.

You should see your GP, he or she should be able to give you direction as to who you need to see . Do you have a mental health clinic there? That would be a great resource too. Does anyone else in your family have a mental illness? BDD is associated with a mental illness. If you really feel you have problems you need to seek help! Good luck!

You can contact a counselor and many charge on a sliding scale, meaning they will see what you make and base the fee on that.

You can also help yourself by being honest with yourself regarding your body. Talk to people who care about you and ask them to give you positive feedback about your body. Remember those comments.

Seek out some help so you can feel better about yourself soon. Take care.

Why don't you Google it? I bet there is an online support group. They will help you spell it right. I think I have it, too.
