Can I walk into a bank, give them my cash, and have them wire transfer the funds to at one of my bank accounts?

Some banks will do it, some won't. I would try the larger banks first. It will also depend on where the funds are going to and how much you need to wire. Pleae be prepared to pay 30.00 for the fee, since you dont have an account.

It might help to have a contact person at your bank, just in case they need to verify any info.

Banks do not hold cash, BTW.

Well to this answer it is a no. The main reason is because banks have to have the money in the new account for a certain amount of days for security purposes, if you do go to a bank and say you want to open and account and wire the money either that day or the next then the security department will step in and find out why you need to wire that money so fast, your best way without an account is western union or either moneygram

Since you don't have your friends ATM card... you can forget about using an ATM... The moment you stand in front of it and it asks you to swipe your card... is the moment you realize hopefully that it can't be done. Ask your friend for her account number and which bank she uses, find a branch, walk in, fill out a deposit slip with her info and bank account number, go to a Teller and deposit the cash into her account.
